living the country life...without a car
I don't but I have a friend coming over with her little girl , she lives in a town in Oxfordshire - about 40 minutes away in the car -she does not drive. We live spitting distance away from Oxfordshire and I could collect her from one of our nearest towns...She looked into it and guess what One bus from Witney to Banbury on a thursday and two on a Saturday! No good when I have her coming over on a Wednesday ! And in thsi world of getting us out of cars and onto public transport I would never see anybody !

Oh, Nelly is so lovely and gorgeous! You can really appreciate her spirit in her photos.
I so empathise with the sleep thing - you probably remember me writing about our 'A' waking every hour, every night for nearly a year. Torture, to put it mildly. Good news is that it does get better, in phases - and occasionally it gets bad again but it does vastly improve overall.
We converted to her toddler bed at a little over two yrs. old as she is a world class climber. Did pretty well with bed guards for another 10 months or so until we got her a cabin bed recently. We used the 'magic lamp' technique to keep her in bed - let me know if you want more details! LOL

have not done the bed thing yet - we were going to do it when we got back from holiday but that was when she discovered there is life after 8 pm!!! fortunately she has not worked out how to climb out of the cotbed yet but it will not be long\! would love to hear the magic lamp story soemtime too - at the moment we are concentrating on trying to get her to sleep in her own bed all night!
